Whether any of these actually lands under ₹50,000 depends on your dates, the number of travellers and hotel choice. Peak weeks such as Diwali and year-end can push a trip well past your limit.

- Travel in the off-peak weeks, and avoid school holidays and long weekends
- Choose one city or one region, not three
- Stay slightly outside the centre, near a metro or train line
- Eat where locals eat, and book only the two or three paid activities you care about most
- Check your visa position early, as some rules change and a rushed visa can cost more
A five-day shape that works
Day 1 is arrival and a light evening. Days 2 and 3 are your main sightseeing. Day 4 is a day trip or a free day. Day 5 is departure. More than that creates rushed days, and rushed days cost money.
